MAHENDRA Patel

Mahendra Patel is truly the forefather of Concept Hotels and the entire team and board look to him for advice and guidance as the company grows. He has been a successful, totally self-made real estate investor owning and operating over ten hotels in the greater San Francisco Bay Area over the last 35 years. A former board member of the California Lodging Industry Association Mahendra was instrumental in bringing together the inaugural Western Lodging Show, presiding as Chairman of the show committee for seven years. He also served as a board member on the Asian American Hotel Owners Association where he liaised with the larger Asian American hotel community and recruited many of them into the organization. He is also a former founding board member of Global Trust Bank in Mountain View, CA. Mahendra has always been a passionate advocate of education, participation and legislative awareness among the Asian members of the lodging community.

A dedicated husband, father of two and grandfather of four, he enjoys travelling the globe and watching old film classics.

Bimal Patel

Bimal lives, breaths and sleeps hotels. Since childhood, he has pictured growing his family's mom-and-pop motels into a collection of uniquely crafted hotels that would deliver an Xperience to his guests. His vision has become Concept Hotels and he is the driving force behind the company, hence his "Head of Household" title! Bimal strongly believes in keeping his hotels on the edge of the industry and in fostering a culture that embraces change and encourages innovation. Bimal, a former investment banker, has been able to effectively leverage a B.S. in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business, U.C. Berkeley and an MBA with extensive hospitality course work from Cornell University to realize his vision brick by brick. Bimal is the current Chairman of the California Hotel & Lodging Association and serves on the Board of Directors of the Hospitality & Restaurant Foundation. He has previously served as a Board Member of the California Lodging Industry Association and as an Ambassador for the Asian American Hotel Owners Association.

Bimal enjoys playing basketball with his two growing sons, is a hot-sauce connoisseur and is training to complete a marathon!

Sanjeev Tamang

Sanjeev Tamang

Sanjeev began his Concept Hotels career at the front desk level in 2008, gradually moving up to become an Xperience Manager and has always been eager to pitch in, be it as the “unofficial photographer of company events” or an “interim manager”. During his stint as an Xperience Manager, Sanjeev developed a penchant for managing projects and realized he had a passion and talent for it. In 2016, he took that passion to the next level by joining the corporate team in a newly created roll of Xperience Specialist where he’d be helping each property plan, execute and complete projects of all sizes.

Sanjeev is an avid nature photographer, loves doing long road trips and is a passionate golfer having two holes –in- ones to his credit

Tushar Patel

A true Concept Hotels' home grown superstar, Tushar, started out as a front desk associate in 2009. He worked his way up to General Manager (well, in our case, Xperience Manager) and always stepped in when the company was in need of interim help in any capacity. His eagerness to learn and his commitment to hospitality and Concept became clear over the years. While in his various roles at the hotel level, Tushar discovered that of all of the exciting things that go on in the hotel world (yes there are all sorts of interesting and exciting things daily!), there's one area that he just couldn't get enough of, revenue strategy. Proving that he not only had an interest but also talent for revenue strategy, he was promoted in 2014 to his then self-chosen title, RevXpert (aka Revenue Strategist/Manager) for the entire Concept Hotels' portfolio. Tushar completed his Revenue Management Master’s Certificate from Cornell University in an effort to expand upon the “Xpert” in his then title. Because of the aforementioned eagerness to learn and the understanding that revenue strategy intricately correlated with sales and marketing efforts, he also completed his Sales & Marketing Master’s Certificate from Cornell University. Naturally, when the position of Director of Sales & Marketing opened up in 2017, he accepted the challenge of being at the head of both the Sales & Marketing department as well as the Revenue Strategy department. The Sales, Marketing & Revenue Maestro was born!

Tushar is a big time foodie and loves to find/try the next great restaurant he’s going to recommend to someone. His "me time" is listening to, expanding and organizing his extensive music collection which includes over 75,000 songs and more than 4,000 albums from artists in various genres.

Lindo Perez

Lindo joined Concept Hotels in 2014 in the role of Xperience Manager at Hotel Zico. After successfully getting his arms around Concept’s flagship property, he was offered a new challenge to take over the Menlo Park Inn in 2016. It became ever more apparent that Lindo had a tremendous thirst for more responsibility and a drive to be successful; as such, in September of that same year, 2016, he was promoted to Area Xperience Manager and took on multiple hotels (Menlo Park Inn and LiA Hotel). One year of continuing to show his unique ability to build exceptional teams and be buttoned up on the operations of multiple hotels led to his promotion as Xperience Director of the whole portfolio in October 2017.

In his spare time, Lindo loves to take his wife salsa dancing! He also enjoys spending time with his family; all 9 siblings and 33 nieces/nephews to be exact. If he’s not doing either of those, you’re likely to find him at a poker table somewhere.

Maria Villanueva

Maria earned her B.S. in Business Administration with an emphasis in Human Resources from Cal State East Bay. In order to pay for her education on her own, she worked full-time at a large home Improvement store while attending college. After completing her studies, Maria began working in a Human Resources ' role for a company she spent 14 years with. It was there she learned that her supportive communication style came in very handy when dealing with the different types of personalities. It did not take her long to realize how satisfying it was to have a positive impact when assisting employees. She brought all her experience and expertise to Concept Hotels in 2017 when she took on the role of People Xpert.

Maria is a foodie and enjoys eating out with friends and family. For the most part, she tends to be reserved, so to help get herself out of her shell, she became a Toastmasters Member! For her, Toastmasters is not just for self-improvement but also for fun. Additionally, she’ll be the first to admit she has no talent for dancing, but to break character here and there, she sneaks in a belly dancing lesson.
